«Legends of Kronstadt Ice» is a unique exhibition of objects, photographs, and documents in the Museum of Kronstadt History, dedicated to frozen Baltic water that surrounds Kotlin Island in a cold time of year.
It is difficult to imagine this now, but 50 years ago, it was possible to get from islands to the large ground in winter only on ice. At that time, the Gulf of Finland was used to build real ice roads, and even operated a temporary ice railway. In 1927, a unique event occurred for the world transport history, about which we recognize from the Russian magazine «Ogonyok» that of the same year: Icebreaker «Lenin» (later renamed as «Ilich») collided with the horse carriage. How the case ended is not known.
The Kronstadt History Museum became very interested in this fact and asked different artists to portray how they saw this event. I got three comics.
